Corinne Bailey Rae @ J&R MusicFest, City Hall Park, NYC - August 24, 2006

Corinne Bailey Rae was the opening act at the J&R MusicFest. I realize that City Hall Park is directly across the street from J&R but they might want to consider moving their concerts to a better, not necessarily larger, park. The problem with City Hall Park is the lawn that runs down the center, ending approximately 40 feet from the stage. You end up with a bunch of people filling up the front from stage left to right and then a bottleneck on the sides of the lawn - hardly an accommodating situation for the concert-goers.

As far as the music went, the soul chanteuse from the UK showed off the voice that's made her a favorite among the Starbucks crowd. It's a shame that most of the audience was there to see Joe and seemed to treat Corinne as filler - too bad for them.
